Mr. Lin: Fasten your seat belts, everyone. We're off to the beach!
Paul: All right! But Dad, do I have to wear my seat belt when I sit in the back seat?
Mr. Lin: Yes. In America, it's the law. Besides, if we have an accident, a seat belt can save your life.
Paul: Dad, you've been really careful about all the rules ever since you took your driving test.
Mrs. Lin: Yes, the officer who gave your dad the test was very strict. Driving here is very different from driving in China. Everyone is more careful to follow the rules.

*林先生：各位，系好你们的安全带。我们要到海滩去了。
*保　罗：好！可是，爸，我坐后座也要绑安全带吗？
*林先生：要。在美国，这是有法律规定的。除此以外,万一遇到车祸,安全带,还能救你一命。
*保　罗：爸，自从你去考驾照以后，你变得好注意交通规则！
*林太太：是啊，给你爸爸监考的主考官很严格。在这里开车跟在中国开车很不一样。在这里，大家比较注意遵守交通规则。

Paul: Why is everyone slowing down? I thought you had to go faster to get onto the freeway.
Mr. Lin: See that light? It lets one car at a time onto the freeway. That way everyone can get on the freeway safely.

Mr. Lin: Yes, they will. There are a lot of policemen on these freeways, and they stop cars for exceeding the speed limit.
Paul: How much is a ticket?
Mr. Lin: It depends. Sometimes over $100.
Paul: That's a lot of money. Keep going the speed limit, Dad.
