Mrs. Lin: Jack, you really need a new pair of boots. These boots are almost worn out.
Mr. Lin: No, they're not. They're fine. They're very comfortable.
Mrs. Lin: One of the big department stores at the mall is having a shoe sale. It's a good chance to get a new pair. It's a good opportunity to do some Christmas shopping, too.
Mr. Lin: You know I hate shopping.
Mrs. Lin: I know, but it's necessary, unless you want to wear your slippers to the university all winter! And since they're having a sale, I might as well get some new shoes, too.
